Hi! I am

Jamie.

I am a Bilingual Mastered Level Clinical Social Worker whose motto is “being in a position to reflect change”. I am all about self-growth, mindfulness and changing your perspective. My passion for helping others has grown and driven me to work with many individuals in diverse settings and backgrounds. I have been providing therapy in both English and in Spanish to adolescents, adults and individuals who suffer from a mental health diagnosis and/or substances abuse for several years now by utilizing various therapeutic approaches. My specialty in working with clients with substance abuse among other challenges, has allowed me the privilege of embracing a person’s most painful moment and helping them towards the road of healing, recovery, and change in a warm and safe environment.

In 2003, I earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Sociology from Marymount University. In 2014, I earned a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Barry University. I am also a Certified Child Psychologist and a Certified Drug and Alcohol Treatment Specialist. For the last 2 years I facilitated various workshops under the Alternatives to Violence Project Tampa Bay covering topis such as depression, boundaries and self-esteem, trauma, domestic violence, etc.

My role as a therapist is to be empathic, trustworthy, compassion and to empower my clients by helping them get to a place of healing.  Most importantly, my goal is to be in a rewarding position that reflects change.
